Africatown to host first Property Development Meetup

  • By
With the escalating pressure on Black property owners due to upzoning and land-use changes, Africatown Community Land Trust is seeking to connect key stakeholders and bring solutions for the retention and development of Black-owned land in the Central District.

Africatown Community Land Trust invites community members to learn about options to develop your property and programs and resources that exist to help property owners.

Hear from property owners, community-minded developers and organizations like the City of Seattle and King County, Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together about resources you can use to keep your homes, repair your homes, expand or add to your home. Some of this is new information as the policies are just taking shape.

Presenters include:
  • Ruby Holland
  • Patricia Valentine
  • Wa Na Wari
  • City of Seattle Office of Economic Development
  • King County Office of Tax Assessor John Wilson
We want to ensure our community's property owners are aware of all the ways they can remain in their homes and find avenues to help pay their high property taxes. We'll have information on the newest program, ADU's (accessory dwelling units).

Property owners, community-minded developers, architects, and contractors are encouraged to attend.
