#AffordableHousingAlert - JACKSON HEIGHTS (23rd

  • By Staff

Please Share - Jackson Heights, located on the intersection of 23rd and Jackson at the location of the former Flower Shop, has now started their affordable housing lottery for the 74 affordable housing units.

Jackson Heights is affirmatively targeting via Neighborhood Preference, people who lived in the Central District before the year 2000 or any of their family members. That means that if you or a family member lived in the Central District before the year 2000, you qualify to enter the Jackson Heights Affordable Housing Lottery. An example, if your Aunt lived in the Central District before the year 2000 but you never did, you are still eligible to enter the lottery and so would she. The Jackson Heights Affordable Housing Lottery end on December 16, 2019.

Neighborhood Preference
If you, or a member of your immediate family (spouse, children, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, or grandparents) lived in the Central District prior to January 1, 2000, then you qualify for Neighborhood Preference. Please note: The family member who lived in the Central District does not have to be a member of your own household.
